Your beautiful Iris inspired me to get into my sewing room & work on my own flowers from last year's garden. I'm so excited that you're coming to Texas later on this year. I can't wait for your lecture at Mckinney Quilt Guild & at Dallas Guild at year end. Be safe in your travels. And now I got to read the story behind it - even better! :) I had to giggle about your description of Placerville - been there! My husband was a visiting scientist in 1991/92 in Institute of Forest Genetics (just outside Placeville) and believe it or not - my very first "meet-and-greet" with United States was Placerville! I came to visit my husband in June of '92., flu into LAX (all the way from former Yugoslavia), then Sacramento and then a car drive to Placerville. At the time, EVERYTHING was interesting to me, but in few days, through my husband's good friends (locals) I heard all about history of Placerville (and hanging stuff...) :) Interestingly, since at the time (civil war brewing in our home country), we decided that we will immigrate to US, Placerville was one option for us to settle in - we would have been neighbors! But, better jobs for BOTH of us, (and some friends), were in Buffalo NY, so here we are, TWENTY years later, calling America our new home! Who knew! :)Marijahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07581196809366841407noreply@blogger.com
